Our Mission
SHOC, Slough Homeless – Our Concern, aims to provide, within a safe and friendly environment, a comprehensive package of services to tackle homelessness and social exclusion.
We aim to provide clients with the knowledge and tools that will help them to re-integrate back into society and become useful members of the community.
Our service is open to all; it is non-judgemental, confidential, friendly and anti-discriminatory.
Need Help?
SHOC only exists to help others. Are you having trouble getting or keeping accommodation? Worried about your health or how to feed or clothe yourself, need help getting new skills or finding a job? If you feel you’re on your own and don’t know who to turn to we can help.
We’re only a short walk from the centre of Slough and we’re here to give help and confidential advice. Whatever the cause of the problems you face we’ll do our best to support you, we’re not here to judge, just to help.

More SHOC clients obtain jobs
The 4th year of operation of the Springboard Learning Centre was the most successful to date with 36 clients securing jobs. Four years ago the Reaching Communities programme of the Big Lottery Fund awarded a grant to SHOC to create and operate the Springboard Learning Centre for five years. After four years, clients have completed 427 courses and 96 clients have secured jobs. As a result those clients have restored their self-esteem and achieved their independence.
